Install the Android SDK
Add the Loops AI chat SDK to your app via Gradle.
Requirements
- Android 5.0+ (API 21)
- AndroidX
- A Loops agent ID (from the configurator)
Add the dependency
The SDK is distributed via JitPack straight from its GitHub
repository — loopsmartai/loopsai-sdk-android.
Add the JitPack repository in your project-level settings.gradle.kts:
dependencyResolutionManagement {
repositories {
google()
mavenCentral()
maven(url = "https://jitpack.io")
}
}Then add the dependency in your app module build.gradle.kts:
dependencies {
implementation("com.github.loopsmartai:loopsai-sdk-android:1.0.2")
}Then import it where you present the chat:
import com.loopsai.chat.LoopsAIChat
import com.loopsai.chat.LoopsAIChatConfigManifest permissions
Add these only if you use the matching features — the SDK grants the WebView access to a capture device only when the host app already holds the permission:
| Permission | When you need it |
|---|---|
android.permission.CAMERA | Virtual try-on flows that capture from the camera. |
<uses-permission android:name="android.permission.CAMERA" />The SDK ships no OkHttp/Retrofit dependency, so there is nothing else to link. Camera capture is granted only to allowlisted Loops origins.
